This a rare opportunity to experience the installation process, as well as work with a leading contemporary artist. "Color Field" will cover the entire floor of the Neuberger Museum of Art's largest gallery.
This sculpture, composed of hundreds of wires covered with millions of beads, was meticulously prepared by a team of artisans in Durban, South Africa and will be carefully sited at the Neuberger with the community's help and the museum's own volunteers, trained by and working directly with the artist.
Volunteer work sessions are scheduled to take place from Monday, Oct. 19 through Wednesday, Oct. 28. Lou will be working with volunteers from Oct. 19-23. She will not be on-site from Monday, Oct. 26, through Wednesday, Oct. 28.
