Harrison Students Win 10 Awards At Princeton Model Congress

HARRISON, N.Y. -- The Harrison High School Model Congress team walked away with 10 awards at this year’s Princeton Model Congress Conference held in Washington, D.C.

The Harrison High School team of 23 students was among one of thirty eight teams in attendance and competed against nearly 900 students from across the country.

The team earned eight honorable mention awards and two students received Gavel awards, the highest honor an individual can receive at the conference. Freshman Raffi Piliero became the first freshman in HHS Model Congress history to gavel in full session.

Students at the conference were split into different committees, where they debated bills that were related to their topic.

Awards were as follows:

Ben Adler (12) – Red House International Relations – Honorable Mention Daniel Maldonado (12) – Orange Senate Foreign Relations - Honorable Mention Marielle Sheck (11) – Blue House Judiciary – Honorable Mention Matt Druckman (11) – Orange House Judiciary – Honorable Mention Harrison Steins (11) – Orange House Science and Technology – Honorable Mention Erica LaManna (11) – Blue Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions – Honorable Mention Dillion Bogart (10) – Orange House Education and Workforce – Honorable Mention Harry Barnwell (10) – Orange House International Relations – Honorable Mention
