PURCHASE, N.Y. -- A four-alarm fire Sunday night broke out inside an apartment-style dorm at Purchase College.
The fire had been contained by around 11 p.m. after breaking out at about 10 p.m., leading to the immediate evacuation of the dorm, located in the commons, one of three apartment complexes at the college. No injuries were reported, but flames damaged six dorms, according to ABC 7.
An investigation of the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
Harrison, Purchase and Port Chester fire departments all responded.
A drive to collect items to help students effected by the fire was scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday in Purchase College's Student Services Building.
