New products have now been added for a nationwide recall of nearly 10 million pounds of meat and poultry products over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria. The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that BrucePac is recalling approximately 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. Nearly 30 years after fatally stabbing a fellow inmate at a Northern Westchester prison because he wore a cross, a 54-year-old New York man learned he will spend decades in prison for the killing. Car Rolls Down Hill Into Building, Ditch In Westchester
A building in Northern Westchester was damaged after a car rolled down a hill and crashed into it before ending up in a ditch. The crash happened on Friday, Oct. 4 in Mount Kisco, when an unattended vehicle rolled through a grass field, through a garden, and into the corner of a garage on Brookside Avenue, according to Independent Fire Co. #13 of the Mount Kisco Fire Department. After hitting the garage, the car then rolled down an embankment, firefighters said. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was later towed away and the area was cordoned off.
