HARRISON, N.Y. - Carlo Riccobono of the West Harrison Fire Department approached the Harrison Town Board alongside his coworkers to unveil and donate a commemorative quilt marking the department's 100th anniversary last week. The fire department also donated hats to the Town Board to promote the September celebration.
The donated quilt will be on display in the downtown Harrison municipal building to promote the 100 years that West Harrison's fire department serviced the town.
"We want everyone to know about this celebration," Riccobono said.
The West Harrison Fire Department will be hosting a large parade near Silver Lake on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. The parade will start in West Harrison and end at Passidomo Park.
The celebration also includes an open picnic for all residents, live music and over 15 visiting departments.
"This is the biggest parade we have hosted in 25 years," Riccobono said.
