Registration for Harrison Lacrosse in Full Bloom

HARRISON, N.Y. - Spring may be a few months away, but Harrison's youth lacrosse league is already gearing up for another season.

Registration is in full swing and Bob Cipolla, the head of the league, said he'll be pushing this season's newest addition, a seventh and eighth-grade girls' division.

"We're working on expanding the girls' teams, which have already seen some positive feedback," Cipolla said.

And part of that equation includes bringing in experienced lacrosse trainers to work closely with players and coaches to get the teams on their feet and with sticks in their hands, he said.

Also being pushed for the upcoming spring season, Cipolla said, will be increased participation by local parents. The league is looking for any parents interested in joining the coaching staff, regardless of previous experience. Free coach training seminars will be organized by the league going into the season and is open to anyone interested in joining.

The Harrison Youth Lacrosse League started almost 10 years ago and has grown into a staple of local Westchester sports. The league competes regularly against teams throughout the region, including Larchmont and Rye.

The league offers online registration and those interested can click here to learn more.
