HARRISON, N.Y. - Construction along Nelson Avenue in downtown Harrison has made progress but has also increased driving limitations along the road. A project to replace some of the road's sidewalks and curbs shut down one lane Friday afternoon.
Harrison police officers blocked off the road from Calvert Street to Webster Avenue Friday so large cement trucks could occupy one lane to install a new curb.
Large gaps separated the sidewalks from the road as curbs were being installed. Parking along Nelson Avenue has been restricted since late July.
The construction is expected to be complete by the end of August, according to Bilotta Construction President Joseph Bilotta.
