Student induction was awarded on the basis of points earned for participation in dance activities which meet the national society’s general guidelines. Additionally, grade point average in dance-centered classes was factored into eligibility. Students filling the above criteria, as well as demonstrated collaborative teamwork, motivation, participation in the many aspects of dance, and took part in community outreach were inducted into the prestigious society.

According to dance teacher Deborah Toteda, “The mission of the NHSDA is to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in Dance for students in grades 9-12 and to foster an appreciation for dance as a true art form and one worthy of recognition and prestige.”
HHS juniors received a certificate and pin, while seniors received certificates, pins, and cords indicating their induction to be worn during their June 26th graduation.
