Harrison's Nelson Avenue Road Work Limits Parking

HARRISON, N.Y. - Parking along Nelson Avenue has been blocked for roadwork, Bilotta Construction President Joseph Bilotta said. For the next few weeks, Bilotta said construction crews will be replacing the road's curbs and sidewalks up to Union Avenue.

"We will be out of there within a month," Bilotta said. "There are multiple operations that need to be done and many variables that might affect how long it takes."

Roadside parking is prohibited from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. so the construction crews can service the roads without interference. Orange construction cones line the sidewalks warning that violators of the parking rule will be towed.

Residents of the area are advised to park along side streets until the work is completed.

Bilotta said homes with garages will not lose access to them as construction workers will provide them with platforms to guide their vehicles up their driveways.
