HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison residents paid tribute to the men and women of the military Monday with a Veterans Day parade.
Organized by the town's Office of Veteran Affairs, a group of Harrison veterans led a large procession down Underhill Avenue from Main Street to the Honor Roll on the West Harrison Village Green. Also in the parade were police officers, elected officials, boy scouts, girl scouts and the Harrison High School Marching Band.
A crowd of patriotic onlookers cheered on the procession as it made its way down to the Honor Roll. A ceremonial wreath was laid at the memorial. Guns were fired off in salute of the men and women of the armed forces, and Taps was played.
