HARRISON, N.Y. - The Harrison Town Board is scheduled to meet Thursday night in an abbreviated summer schedule. One talking point on the agenda includes a call for nominees for a Harrison "Citizen of the Year" award.
According to the meeting's agenda, the town recreation department will request nominations for the award, which will be presented at the "Great to Live in Harrison Celebration and Columbus Day Observance," scheduled for Oct. 10. Nominations must be received by Sept. 1 and should be directed to the following address:

Other items on the meeting's agenda include:
- A report from Supervisor Joan Walsh on decisions made during the last meeting on July 7.
- Monthly and quarterly reports from the building inspector, town librarian, fire marshall, commissioner of public works, and advisor to the recreation department.
- A public hearing that includes Cingular Wireless discussing upgrades at their North Street location.
- A request by West Harrison resident Ron Belmont for the board to investigate and consider passing a local law that regulates the placement of election signs.
