HARRISON, N.Y. - A board of education meeting along with various aquatic and athletic activities highlight what's happening in Harrison this week.

Monday, July 9

Aquacise: 9:15 a.m. Aquacise classes begin at the Ron Belmont Pool in West Harrison. The fee is $75. Senior citizens get in free with a Harrison resident card.

Summer Swim Team Practice: 3:45-4:45 p.m. Practice begins for the Harrison Summer Swim Team at the Ron Belmont Pool in West Harrison. The cost is $150.

Tuesday, July 10

Speed, Agility and Explosion Camp: 8-9:15 a.m. Athletes will participate in various agility and explosion drills and learn proper running mechanics. Athletes also will be instructed in proper sport-specific movements and drills that will help them be more explosive in their respective. Tadpole Swimming Lessons: Noon - 12:30 p.m. The Harrison Recreation Department is offering swimming lessons for children ages 4 and 5 at the Ron Belmont Pool in West Harrison. Children will get 10 lessons in the next month on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The fee is $80, payable to the Town of Harrison. Passidomo Park, West Harrison.

Summer Piano at Purchase College: 8-10 p.m. This show features jazz pianist Pete Malinverni, whose eclectic and personal voice has been a mainstay of the series. Malinverni is an assistant professor in the Conservatory of Music’s jazz studies program, where he teaches jazz harmony, improvisation, and combos and directs the campus-wide Soul Voices Ensemble, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.

Friday, July 13

Senior Citizens Club: Noon - 2 p.m. The Harrison Senior Citizens Club will get together to discuss items of interest and play bingo at the Veterans Building. For more information, call 914-227-7088, 210 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

Mad Science Workshop: 4-5 p.m. The Harrison Public Library hosts "Optical Illusions" by Mad Science. Build your own periscope while learning about optics, reflection and sight.
