Walk To Erase ALS Scheduled In Purchase

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- The ALS Association will hold its 14th Annual Westchester Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser Sunday, June 26 on the Manhattanville College campus in Purchase.

There will be at least 58 Teams of walkers and other individuals, representing friends and family of ALS victims, alive and deceased.

There will be at least 58 teams of walkers and other individuals, representing friends and family of ALS victims, alive and deceased. The creator of the Ice Bucket Challenge -- Pat Quinn -- will also be at the event.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, according to the ALS Association website.
