Harrison Hosts Memorial Day Parade Monday

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison will pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in service to their country when it hosts its annual Memorial Day parade Monday.

Parade participants will line up at the corner of Halstead Avenue and Thatcher Avenue at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed to Ma Riis Park for a ceremony honoring the veterans of Harrison and America. A number of local municipal and civic groups will take part in the parade, and all veterans are welcome to join.

In addition to honoring the men and women of the armed forces, there will be a recognition of Harrison High School band director Fred Pasqua, who has spent 23 serving the children of Harrison and the community.
