A community organization in Putnam County is seeking help in replacing a decades-old bulletin board that was destroyed in a hit-and-run crash. The collision happened on Thursday, Feb. 13, around 4:45 a.m., when a pickup truck crashed into the Brewster Rotary Club’s community board, destroying it, the organization announced. A tornado touched down in New York State during a round of severe storms, the National Weather Service has announced following a survey of the damage. The tornado hit the village of West Winfield in southern Herkimer County late Saturday morning, June 22. It's about 60 miles east of Syracuse and 85 miles west of Albany. Lightning Strike Causes Tree To Fall On Car In Hudson Valley
One person was taken to a hospital after lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall on a car in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, June 23 around 7:20 p.m., when a tree fell on a vehicle on Route 6N in Mahopac between Secor Road and Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
