Sinkhole From Storm Shuts Down Busy Westchester Street A week's worth of wild weather led to the development of a sinkhole that forced the closure of a busy Westchester roadway. Orchard Place had to be shut down between Orchard Street and Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers on Friday, July 19, after a sinkhole that opened up earlier this week spread, leaving the roadway with a large crater.
