Cleanup In Aisle 3: Stop & Shop Begins Robot Rollout
Robots are rolling in the aisles at Stop & Shop stores across the region. The supermarket chain's parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA, announced in January plans to place robots in Stop & Shop stores to support efficiency and safety in the stores. The robots are named Marty and their job is to call attention to hazards like when liquid, powder and large foodstuffs spill, then report when action to fix the problem is necessary. Pace University Students Help Elmsford Fourth-Graders Learn STEM Skills
Students of Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems helped a class of fourth-graders learn various STEM skills during a five-week program at Alice E. Grady School in Elmsford. Irvington Fifth-Graders 'Amazed' By County Police Hazmat Robot
Westchester County Police “wowed” fifth-graders in Irvington, showcasing some of the technology used to battle crime in the region. Aa a culmination to their “Project Lead the Way” program, fifth-grade students at the Main Street School welcomed Westchester County Police Det. Mamaroneck HS Students Lead First Elementary School Robotics Competition
Mamaroneck High School students Jordan Ramirez and Paul Pedrozo-- as part of their senior internship -- designed, organized and led the inaugural Elementary Robotics Competition this week. More than 50 fifth graders from all four of the school district's elementary schools came together on June 11 in the high school library for a day full of making new friends, collaborating, competing and having fun.
