A traveler was arrested by police after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers spotted a handgun and loaded gun magazine concealed inside a pair of sneakers packed inside a checked bag. The incident took place at LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday, Nov. 1. When the checked bag passed through the TSA explosives detection unit, it triggered an alarm, alerting TSA officers to open the bag to get a look at what caused the alarm. Alert Issued For Missing 21-Year-Old Hudson Valley Woman
Have you seen her? Authorities are asking the public's help in locating a missing 21-year-old Hudson Valley woman. Dutchess County resident Melina M. Bixler, of LaGrange, who was reported missing by her family, New York State Police said Saturday evening, July 22. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black Naruto hoodie with white jeans and black Nike sneakers. She 5-foot-6 and weighs about 115 pounds. Police are asking for help from the public in identifying three teenagers who they say stole several cases of alcoholic beverages from a CVS in Westchester. The theft happened on Sunday, May 28 just after 5:30 p.m., when three male suspects believed to be teenagers stole several cases of alcohol from a CVS located in Rye Brook at 182 South Ridge St., according to Rye Brook Police. A missing youth advisory has been issued by police in Westchester as they attempt to locate a teenager who could be in danger. Orlando Valdez, 14, was reported missing in Yonkers on Thursday, Sept. 17, prompting the police department to issue an alert to the community as they attempt to locate him. 5-Year-Old Hudson Valley Boy Goes Missing
Police are asking for help in locating a 5-year-old boy missing from the City of Poughkeepsie who may have been snatched by his father. Noah J. Cruz was last seen on Feb. 16 at a local pizza restaurant with his paternal grandmother. According to the state's Missing Persons Clearinghouse, he was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray jacket, black sweatpants and black Nike sneakers.
