A New York State Police trooper who suffered a gunshot wound on a roadway in the region may not have been entirely truthful about what happened. On Long Island, state police and the Nassau County District Attorney’s office are investigating “certain inconsistencies” in Trooper Thomas Mascia’s reporting of the alleged incident, a spokesperson for DA Anne Donnelly told Daily Voice. Authorities are investigating a shooting down the street from a fire station in Westchester that left a man hospitalized. The incident happened on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 9:30 p.m., when shots were fired at an apartment complex at 103 West 3rd Street in Mount Vernon, down the street from a Mount Vernon firehouse, according to city officials. An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries. Man Dies After Being Shot In Broad Daylight At Park In Westchester
Two men were shot during an incident at a public park in Westchester, including one man who later died of his injuries, police said. The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 at Doyle Park on Ashburton Avenue in Yonkers, when two men were found with gunshot wounds, according to Yonkers Police Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio.
