Producer, composer and Croton-Harmon High School graduate James Cobb has died at the age of 34. James (Jim) Addison Cobb was born on June 13, 1985 in Mount Kisco to Phyllis and Michael Cobb. A longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, Jim was a graduate of Croton-Harmon High School as well as a proud alumnus of Walkabout 26 (2003), an alternative program for high school seniors. Teen Social Media Star Accused Of Stealing Area Woman's Identity For Spending Spree
A teenage social media influencer from California has been accused of stealing a New York woman’s identity to take her for thousands of dollars to pay for a lavish vacation and high-end clothing accessories. Christian Aaron, 19, has been indicted on charges that include two counts of identity theft and grand larceny. The Democratic National Committee announced the names of presidential candidates who qualified for the first debates of the 2020 campaign, cutting the record wide field of 23 contenders down to the 20 spots. Single-use plastic bags will soon be extinct in New York State. Citing pollution and concerns for animal safety on Earth Day, April 22, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation that will ban the use of single-use bags beginning on March 1, 2020. The plastic bag ban was included in Cuomo’s recently released $175.5 billion state budget. These Hudson Valley Counties Have Highest Property Tax Rates In Nation, New Study Says
Homeowners in New York and Connecticut paid some of the highest property taxes in the country last year, according to a brand new report. ATTOM Data Solutions released its 2018 property tax analysis for more than 87 million homes, announcing that single-family homeowners last year paid a total of $304.6 billion, up from $293.4 billion in 2017. A Hudson Valley woman is heading to prison after admitting to embezzling more than $1 million from a BMW dealer she worked at in Fairfield County. Vanessa Vence-Small, 50, of New Windsor in Orange County, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for embezzling $1.1 million from Continental BMW of Darien.
