Pace University Criminal Justice Professor Kim Collica-Cox won a prestigious national Jefferson Award for outstanding public service. She was honored for her innovative animal-assisted therapy program which helps to heal mothers incarcerated at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla. Three-Legged Rescue Dog Helps Dementia Patients In Westchester
Who rescued who? Tinsley, a 3-year-old, three-legged American White Eskimo who was thrown out of a car when she was a puppy has been rescued by a New Rochelle resident, and the dog now visits elderly members of the community suffering from dementia.
