There were few dry eyes in the Bergen County Animal Shelter Tuesday, Aug. 6, as a dog who ran from a crash scene in New York two months ago was reunited with her owner. Salem Mannequin has been tirelessly searching for her yellow lab Nyla since the June 7 crash on the Cross Bronx Expressway at White Plains Road, she tells Daily Voice. She was in a hospital bed at Jacobi Medical Center hours after the accident when she realized, her baby was missing. Two more cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Thursday morning, March 5. The two reportedly are a woman in her 80s and man in his 40s. Three New York City residents have no been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. The first case in the state was diagnosed in Manhattan, a 39-year-old woman who is employed as a healthcare worker and had recently returned from Iran. ID Released For Man Who Died After Boat Overturned In Long Island Sound
Officials have identified the person killed when a 17-foot-boat overturned in Long Island Sound. Eul Lee, 64, from Fort Lee, New Jersey, was killed during a boating accident in Long Island Sound on Sunday, Nov. 3, said the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection State Environmental Conservation Police. A Mount Vernon check forger was arrested near the George Washington Bridge after a police pursuit in New Jersey that began when an officer was clipped by a getaway car, authorities said Wednesday. A 67-year-old long-distance swimmer who went missing Friday in the Hudson River drowned, authorities confirmed early Saturday. Feds Handling Case Against Accused Scarsdale Bank Robber
A serial bank robber from the Bronx admitted Wednesday that he held up banks in Fort Lee and Hasbrouck Heights and was planning to hit another in Englewood when federal agents captured him.
