A firefighter was injured during a blaze at a Northern Westchester home that began in the residence's garage. The incident began on Thursday, May 16 just after 6 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters raced to a home on Memory Lane for a reported blaze. A driver had to be located by authorities after running from the scene of a crash on a busy route in Northern Westchester, fire officials said. The crash happened on Thursday, Jan. 18 around 10:30 p.m., when two vehicles collided on northbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson near Croton Point Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Two Croton Public Works employees were rescued by members from the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department after being stranded in the Croton River. Car Crashes Off Road In Westchester
A motorist managed to escape injuries in a single-vehicle overnight crash in which a car went off the road in Northern Westchester. It happened around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on the 60 block of Grant Street, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. The vehicle left the roadway before coming to a stop against a tree, the department said. The driver not injured and declined medical treatment. Man Clinging To Branch After Trying To Save Dog Rescued From Croton River
A simple walk with his dog turned into a nightmare for a man who ended up clinging to a tree branch to keep from drowning in the rushing water of the Croton River.
