Westchester County's 2025 budget, which avoids a tax levy increase, has been officially signed into law. The $2.5 billion 2025 Westchester operating budget was signed by County Executive George Latimer, officials announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11. K9 Officer Finds Missing Man In Freezing Temperatures In Westchester
Tragedy was avoided when a K9 officer was able to track down an elderly man who went missing in Northern Westchester in freezing conditions. On Saturday, Dec. 24, around 1:45 a.m., police in Peekskill received a call from a man who said his 75-year-old father with Parkinson’s Disease and possible early stages of dementia had wandered from his home at the Society Hill II complex. Trio Nabbed For Drag Racing In Westchester After Chase Ends With BMW Crashing Into Cruiser
Three men were arrested and a loaded handgun was seized after Westchester County Police interrupted an illegal speed contest Monday, Oct. 19, on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers. At 2:25 a.m. Monday, a patrol sergeant observed two vehicles racing northbound on the Saw Mill near McLean Avenue. The sergeant attempted to stop one of the vehicles, a blue BMW, near Yonkers Avenue, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Driver Who Flees On Foot After Westchester Crash On The Loose
A suspect remains on the loose after fleeing the scene of a mid-day crash near the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester over the weekend. Investigators are attempting to track down a driver who struck a second car at approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on Underhill Avenue near the on-ramp of the parkway and took off, prompting an investigation by local, state and county police.
