Halloween Police Details Result In 16.5K Tickets Statewide: Here's A Breakdown New York State Police troopers dished out nearly double the number of tickets during a special Halloween enforcement detail. Troopers issued 16,690 tickets statewide during the enforcement campaign, up from 9,057 tickets last year. The detail ran from Saturday, Oct. 26, and lasted through Nov. 1. “Our top priority is the safety of everyone on our roads – our goal is not to spoil anyone’s fun on Halloween,” Terri Egan, the Executive Commissioner of the DMV said before the detail began. Police: Man, 19, Provided Alcohol, Sexually Abused Child In Hudson Valley A 19-year-old is behind bars after being charged by state police with providing alcohol to a child he sexually abused. State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks received a complaint on May 17 of possible sexual abuse in the town of Hyde Park. Investigation revealed that Jason A. Rugar of Hyde Park sexually abused a child less than 14 years of age and provided the victim with an alcoholic beverage, according to state police.
