Woodlands Hoops Team Receives Sportsmanship Award

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The Woodlands High School boys basketball team received the Dennis T. Hurlie Sportsmanship Award at halftime of the Class AA Championship game between Mount Vernon and Mahopac.

Coach Robert Murphy, athletic director Matthew Smith and the players received the award in recognition of their team spirit and sportsmanship.

The Westchester County chapter of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials created the award in 2002 in honor of Dennis Hurlie, a former president of the association’s Westchester County Board 52.
