Woodlands Celebrates Section 1 Football Championship

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Led by Jonathan Stewart 140-yard rushing performance, Woodlands defeated Rye Neck 28-20 Saturday in the Section 1 Class C football championship game at Mahopac High School.

Woodlands (4-4), which jumped out to a 21-0 lead after three quarters, returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, back at Mahopac, in the state quarterfinals against the Section 9 champion, either Sullivan West or Millbrook.

Quarterback Jake Stevens threw for 96 yards on 3-of-6 accuracy for Rye Neck, which ends the season at 6-2.
