The Irvington Recreation Department provides activities and athletic programs for Irvington and Irvington School District residents from 12 months old to senior adults. Park Facilities include Halsey Pond, Matthlesen Park, which features a playground, shuffle board courts, horse shoe pits, bocce court, spray pool, picnic tables, and barbecue pits, Memorial Park, which is geared to athletics, with ball fields, a multi-purpose field, lit tennis courts, Scenic Hudson Park, 29 Bridge St, which houses a Senior Citizen Center, and features an outdoor lighted basketball court, playgrounds, boat launch, and parking. Classes and programs for children include music, theater, dance and ballet, karate, Kidkorner (Toddler Playgroup), Stepping Stone (Weekly nursery school), Comics and Cartooning, sports (basketball, tackle football, cheerleading, flag football, baseball, softball, wrestling), open gym, trips, summer day camp, and teen travel camp. Adult Classes center on fitness, self-defense, ballet, yoga, and sports (basketball, soccer). Senior Citizen Programs include yoga, line dancing, swimming, fitness, meetings, shopping, book club, bridge, breakfast (monthly), knitting club, and Restaurant (monthly).
