It was accepted by the magazine's editor, Greg Midland, at the 60th PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando on Jan. 24. The magazine is published by the Metropolitan Golf Association.

“This award is a culmination of the hard work and talent displayed by the entire MGA staff and our publishing partners, led by Rick Summers and his team at Great Golf Resorts of the World,” Midland said. “It is a privilege to cover golf in the Met Area, and we will continue our commitment to provide MGA members with the most relevant stories on the people, places and events that make golf in this area second to none.”

The Met Golfer has served members of the MGA for more than 30 years. The winning issue was the June/July 2012 edition, which featured 2012 Ike Championship host Atlantic Golf Club on the cover. ING presents several awards annually in various categories to leaders of the golf industry. The Metropolitan Golf Association, one of the nation’s oldest and largest amateur golf associations, represents more than 500 clubs in the tri-state Metropolitan Area and is served by 300 volunteers.
