The school held its graduation Friday night, led by keynote speaker Jared Marcus Green, senior associate/vice president at Langan Engineering and a Woodlands graduate, who credited Woodlands with helping him find success.
"If your dreams don't scare you, you're not dreaming big enough," Green said.
Superintendent Tahira Dupree Chase gave the graduates one last long-term homework assignment, telling them to use their time wisely, continue learning, work hard and build and maintain positive relationships.
"I hope we've given you your wings to fly," she said.
In her valedictory address, Chanya Holness told her classmates that the most important things she learned in high school have not been merely academic, but overwhelmingly human.
When confronted with challenges in life, she said, "Stop and ask yourself -- can I do it? Then give yourself a chance to find out."
Also speaking at the graduation were Salutatorian Kaisy Gutierrez, Board of Education President David Warner, Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner, and Principal Matthew Smith.
