GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old Yonkers man was arrested Thursday night by Greenburgh detectives working with the U.S. Marshal's Regional Fugitive Task Force in a Greenburgh parking lot.
Craig A Saunders, 25, of 172 Linden St. in Yonkers was arrested in the parking lot at 290 Tarrytown Road, according to Greenburgh police.
Police said that Saunders had at least four prior violent felony convictions. The fugitive was hit with another three felony charges as a result of Thursday's 7:30 p.m. arrest, police said.
Police said Saunders was wanted as a Parole Absconder relating to a second-degree burglary conviction.
At the time of his arrest, Saunders was found in possession of a loaded handgun and a unspecified quantity of cocaine and pills resulting in additional charges of: second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance -- all felonies.
He was being held at the Greenburgh Police Headquarters pending arraignment at Greenburgh Town Court, according to Sgt. Robert Whiting, a police department spokesman.
