Andrew Joffe, of Irvington, was pulled over at around 5:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 29 "for vehicle and traffic violations," Greenburgh Police said in a news release. Joffe was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, but police later discovered he was "in possession of a hypodermic needle and a quantity of heroin," according to the release.
"Further investigation by Greenburgh detectives found that the operator did not have permission to operate the vehicle in question," police wrote in the release. "It was further learned that the 33-year-old operator had recently broken into several vehicles during the overnight hours in the Taxter Road / Mulligan Lane area of Irvington, and stole numerous items from within the vehicles."
