The establishments raided were Locations: Jade Spa, 698 South Central Ave., and Charming Spa on 390 South Central Ave., according to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. Feiner noted that neither establishment had a licensed massage therapist present or working at the time of the arrests.
Charged from the Jade Spa were Meihua Tai, 34, and Hong-Jin Jong, 48, both of Flushing, Queens.
Charged from the Charming Spa were Jung Ae Kim, 49, of Flushing and In Sim Hwang, 57, of Palisade Park, NJ.
Members of the Greenburgh Police Drug and Alcohol Task Force, Detective Division and Street Crime Unit made the arrests after completing a short-term investigation. Town Building Department personnel assisted investigators and their investigation is ongoing.
The four were released on bail after being booked and charged, were not immediately released.
The Greenburgh Town Board passed a local law that will give officials the authority to permanently close down establishments which continually employ unlicensed masseuses. The deadline for existing businesses to comply with the requirements of the local law is October.
