A possible suspect was located in the area of Crisfield Avenue and Kincaid Street by patrol units shortly after the report of the robbery on Friday at approximately 5:45 p.m.

After a brief struggle, this suspect was taken into custody, police said.

The suspect has been identified as a 48-year-old Yonkers resident. He was booked for robbery in the first degree and was expected to be arraigned in Yonkers Criminal Court Saturday. The man's name has not been released due to continuing investigative efforts, police said.

Initial investigation has revealed that the suspect walked into the bank and handed a teller a written note demanding money, according to police. The suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

Detectives are currently investigating to determine if this suspect is also responsible for a previous bank robbery which took place in the area on March 18 at the Atlantic Bank.
