Greenburgh police arrived at the Courtyard Marriott hotel, 475 White Plains Road, at 1:30 a.m. after receiving a call that two male guests were acting disorderly. Police said they walked with Nivar and another man to their room to gather their belongings and escort them off the premises.
When police approached Nivar, he called the officers "pigs," cursed at them and threatened them, police said. The other man attempted to hold Nivar back, but while the man was using his key to enter their room, Nivar approached the police with a raised fist in an attempt to strike an officer, according to police reports.
When police tried to hold Nivar down to arrest him, he began violently swinging his arms and kicking his legs, knocking down a police officer and causing him to sustain injuries to his arm, leg and back, police said.
As the officers walked Nivar out of the building, he continued to struggle and threaten them and their families, and also spit at several officers, police said.
He was charged with second-degree assault, a felony; and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Burglary: Hartsdale Fuel Corp., 74 S. Central Ave., was broken into between Wednesday night, Nov. 28, and Thursday morning, Nov. 29, police said. Employees reported that $160 had been taken from the register, as well as $400 worth of cigarettes and $60 of other merchandise.
Drug Possession: Linda Samuel, 61, of White Plains was charged Monday night, Dec. 3, with seventh-degree criminal possession, a misdemeanor. Police said they found cocaine in an opened cigarette pack of her tote bag.
Slashed Tires: A car owner reported at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, that he had parked his car at 14 N. Central Ave. and found two of the tires slashed after returning from work.
