Surrounded by friends and family in his native Trinidad, Adams died peacefully in his sleep. A favorite amongst his students, Adams taught in the public school system for 34 years before transition to forming the next generation of teachers.
Among his many accomplishments, Adams received the Journal News' 'Golden Apple' award for Best Teacher in 1999, the Cecil H. Parker Award in recognition for outstanding achievement as a trailblazer in the field of education, as well as being named Master Teacher by WNET-TV.
The Pace University School of Education will be compiling a digital memory book dedicated to the spirit of Ainsley Adams. Alumni and friends are encourage to reach out to jargenta@pace.edu to share any memories with Professor Adams or thoughts about his passing.
