Williams Re-Elected in Uncontested District 8 Race

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Alfreda Williams has been re-elected to the Westchester County Board of Legislators for a second term after running in an uncontested race. With 88 percent of the districts reporting Williams secured 2,670 in votes, according to unofficial Board of Election results.

Williams represents District 8 as a Democrat. District 8 covers 54,000 residents in Greenburgh, Elmsford, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and parts of White Plains.

Williams has previously served as the Greenburgh Town Clerk. She held that position from 1994 to 2007. She has also worked for the New York State Education Department, the New York State Department of Labor, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Columbia University Medical Center.

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Queens College, City University of New York and a master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Williams has been a Greenburgh resident since 1974.
