What to Do This Weekend Near Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - The first weekend of March offers a variety of events for youth and adults to enjoy.

  • A new Gershwin musical “S Wonderful” hits the stage at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford. The show includes over 42 songs by the Gershwin brothers. Performances are 6:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Sunday. For ticket information, call (914) 592-2222.
  • High school basketball takes over the hardwood at the Westchester County Center with the Section One High School Boys and Girls Tournament Saturday and Sunday. Admission $8 adults, $5 children under 12 and senior citizens.
  • On Saturday morning at the Greenburgh Public Library, kids ages 2 to 5 can join entertainer Jesus Chuguitaipe for a morning of bilingual stories, songs and toe tapping fun. Library cardholders only. Reservations required. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Call (914) 721-8227.
  • The Theodore D. Young Community Center's 10th annual Arts program's Heartbeat of the Drum show features various forms of dance and arts projects from youth and adults on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Woodlands High School. Tickets $3 at door.
  • Celebrate winter with a nature walk with naturalist John Mancuso at the Greenburgh Nature Center Sunday at 2 p.m. Hot chocolate served afterwards. Included with museum admission. Free for members.
