Blake was chatting with friends outside the Grand Marquis Marriott hotel in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday night when he was thrown to the ground and arrested.
Both New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton called Blake to apologize, according to NBC News.
While Blake thanked them and appreciated the gesture in a statement, he added 'extending courtesy to a public figure is not enough.'
