Tarrytown Man Arrested For Greenburgh Shooting

Greenburgh police arrested a Tarrytown man Wednesday for a Memorial Day shooting.

Police have charged David Fleurimond, 19, with assault in the first degree, a Class B Felony.

The shooting took place in the Fairview section of Greenburgh, near Florence Avenue and Carlton Street early Monday morning. Police say a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were confronted by Fleurimond around 1:40 a.m. Fleurimond then fired several shots at the couple.

The 20-year-old man was hit in the back of his leg while trying to run from the scene, police said. He has not yet been released from the hospital for his wounds, but he is listed in stable condition. The woman was not injured.

Greenburgh detectives and members of the Drug and Alcohol Task Force found a colt .45 caliber handgun and a magazine with six rounds in a 1994 Honda Civic that is registered to a member of Fleurimond’s family. Police believe that is the weapon used in the shooting.

Fleurimond will be arraigned today in the Town of Greenburgh Court. According to Greenburgh police, he has three previous arrests: two felonies and one misdemeanor.
