Tuesday is the final day to buy tickets for Elmsford's Pets Alive's second annual Fur Ball benefit, raising money for shelter cats and dogs.
On Saturday, June 11, the Fur Ball fundraiser includes an acoustic set played by Matchbox 20's singer Rob Thomas, as well as a silent auction, photo booth and dancing. Cocktails, appetizers and dinner will also be served.
"The Fur Ball is our most important fundraiser of the year," said Marcy Rydd, Pets Alive Westchester's community relations officer. "It's to benefit the company. It was created to, essentially, make friends and make money. We need funds to support our work going forward."
Pets Alive Westchester (PAW) is a no-kill rescue shelter that took the place of the Elmsford Animal Shelter in mid-2010.
"Every pet lover should come to the Fur Ball," said Rydd. "When people come to support us, a good time will be had by all. And they will be supporting the work of Pets Alive and the work we do and pulling animals from the high-kill shelters."
Pets Alive was happy with last year's Fur Ball and expects hundreds of people to show this weekend. Attendees are traveling from all over the country to take part.
The Fur Ball is being hosted by the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. To order tickets, click here.
