Still No Leads As Missing Spierer Enters Day 21

EDGEMONT, N.Y. – Volunteers this week traveled from Tennessee and Illinois to assist in the search for missing Edgemont resident Lauren Spierer who has not been seen for nearly three weeks.

With so much land to cover in the Bloomington, Indiana area, help is welcomed and needed every day, said Spierer's father Rob.

"On June 3, my life changed forever," Lauren’s mother Charlene Spierer said at Wednesday's press conference.

Charlene Spierer recalled the telephone call she received from her husband.

 "'Char, it's Lauren, she's missing,'... I don't even know what life was like before June 3,” she said.

Charlene Spierer expressed severe disappointment that only one of her daughter's friends called the police department to offer information. Spierer would have been the first to help anyone, she said.

Police are making efforts behind the scenes, continuing with the investigation further than the details they have publicly released, said Captain Joe Qualters, spokesperson for the Bloomington Police Department. Horses and all-terrain vehicles were used Wednesday to cover more territory.

"You can't get much more anonymous than that," said a watery-eyed Charlene Spierer.
