Memorial Service To Be Held For 2-Year-Old Elmsford Fire Victim

ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- A memorial service will be held at noon, Sunday, Nov. 10 at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home for 2-year-old Tazari Mahon, who died in a fire on Sears Avenue last month.

According to Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams and Matthew Fiorillo of the funeral home, which is donating its services, the memorial is open to all and the family has said they would welcome the support.

Tazari was staying with his mother and family members visiting from Barbados when the fire broke out late on Oct. 19. The boy's body was found in an attic bedroom at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 20.

The village of Elmsford, Elmsford Schools, the Town of Greenburgh and other communities and residents contributed clothing and funds to the family after the devastating fire.

The Ballard-Durand Funeral Home is at 72 E. Main St., Elmsford.
