Lee, a trumpeter, began to fulfill his musical ambitions at an early age, playing trumpet in the White Plains elementary and high school jazz and marching bands.
He received his first trumpet lesson from his father.
After high school, Lee joined the Marines and played four years in the United States Marine Corps Band. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant E-4.
Lee spent the next 22 years at the White Plains Police Department and retired as a detective, then became a criminal investigator for the Bank of New York. He retired 17 years later as the bank’s regional security manager.
Lee continued to play trumpet, and later studied at the Westchester Conservatory of Music in White Plains.
He continues to perform at clubs and restaurants throughout the tri-state area with his band, the Kenny Lee Allstars.
