GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Sabrina Dixon of Yonkers rarely travels on a Westchester County Bee-Line bus, but she was thankful the buses were rolling Thursday.
Dixon's car was recently damaged in an accident and she had a job interview in Greenburgh that she felt confident of being hired for. Without the Bee-Line system, Dixon doesn't know how she would have made it to the interview.
"I would have been in a jam," Dixon said as she stood at a bus stop near Sam's Club. "I didn't want to miss it."
Dixon had to take two buses to her destination and she feels the trek was worth it.
"The interview went well, so I'm glad the bus was running," she said. "I thank the Bee-Line for helping me get the job."
More than 100,000 passengers rely on the Bee-Line system daily. It appears a threatened strike by the Transit Workers Union Local 100 and Liberty Lines, operators of the Bee-Line bus service, will be averted, alleviating transportation worries for thousands of riders.
