GREENBURGH, N.Y. An Ossining teen was arrested after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase while riding his dirt bike in Elmsford.
Greenburgh police charged Derick Espinal, 19, with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, as well as reckless driving, a violation, after a traffic stop at 4:20 p.m. March 4.
Police said an officer on patrol saw Espinal driving a green and white Kawasaki dirt bike in the Payne Street area without license plates or a helmet.
When the officer attempted to pull Espinal over, the teen increased his speed to more than 45 mph above the speed limit, in the process committing several violations of vehicle and traffic laws, police said.
Espinal ignored verbal commands to stop before fleeing on the Croton Aqueduct, police said. Once he was apprehended, a Department of Motor Vehicles check revealed that his drivers license had been suspended for failure to answer a summons.

Cocaine and Marijuana Possession: Police charged Perry Coniglio, 38, of Newburgh with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; and making an illegal signal, after a traffic stop at 2 p.m. March 13. Members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force saw Coniglio fail to signal a lane change while driving on Jackson Avenue, police said. The officers said they found two small clear bags filled with cocaine and another filled with marijuana. Coniglio was issued an appearance ticket for Greenburgh Town Court on March 23.
Heroin Possession: Police charged James Cobb, 25, and Anthony Hehl, 26, both of Mahopac, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors, and a speeding violation after a traffic stop on Sprain Brook Parkway at 4:31 p.m. March 12. Members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force saw numerous pink glassine envelopes commonly used to package heroin inside the passenger compartment in plain view of officers standing outside the vehicle, police said, and both men had heroin and needles in their possession. Cobb and Hehl were issued appearance tickets for Greenburgh Town Court on March 20.
Marijuana Possession: Police charged Damian Anderson, Hartsdale, with possession of marijuana, a violation, after stopping him while he was riding a bicycle on Dalewood Drive about 1:30 p.m. on March 14.
Unlicensed Operation: Police charged Dorcia Puello of the Bronx with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle without stop lamps, after a traffic stop on Central Avenue at 7:45 p.m. March 12.
Public Intoxication: Police charged Kaseim Lotts of White Plains with public appearance under the influence of narcotics or drugs, a violation, around 6:40 p.m. on March 12. Police said they found Lotts lying in a Hillside Avenue parking lot with no shirt, yelling that he was having a heart attack.
