Greenburgh Police Charge Man in Home Burglary

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Three months after a home was burglarized on Indian Trail in the Hillside/Wyndover section of town, Greenburgh police have charged a Mount Vernon man with the crime.

On Thursday, police arrested Alexander Herrera, 26, a.k.a. Alexander Washington, and charged him with second degree burglary for a Nov. 27, 2011 burglary in which jewelry was stolen.

Herrera was also charged with four counts of felony criminal possession of stolen property for items recovered at his former residence at 22 Tomahawk Drive in Greenburgh, police said. In addition to the jewelry from the Nov. 27 heist, police said jewelry stolen on Nov. 17 from another residence in the Hillside/Wyndover section was seized, along with a pair of motorcycles, apparently stolen from Parkway Gardens and Payne Street.

Herrea was arraigned in Greenburgh Town Court and was remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail.
