Claudia Glaser Elected to Greenburgh School Board

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Wearing a crisp, white outfit and turquoise-stemmed glasses, Claudia Glaser raised her hand and was sworn in as a new member of the Greenburgh Central 7's school board on Tuesday evening.

Glaser's wife, Carolina Cordero-Dyer, and two children, Carmen and Diego, were in the audience to applaud her accomplishment with a bouquet of red and white roses, which Carmen handed her mother with a quick hug mid-meeting.

"We're excited about the opportunity for Claudia to be on the school board," said Cordero-Dyer. "We're excited about what it means for our family. She will have a direct role and voice in the district, and that is really important to us."

Glaser said that she is pleased to serve on the school board for the three-year term. Alongside President Terry Williams, she is proud to be elected and is looking forward to making positive changes on the district's educational front.

Active in her children's schools, Glaser was president of Lee F. Jackson Elementary School's PTA for two years before being elected to the school board. In 2006, the family moved from Staten Island to Greenburgh, when the children were two-years-old, in search of good schools. Carmen and Diego recently finished attending Lee F. Jackson and will begin at Highview Elementary School in the fall.

Glaser was sworn in alongside Deborah Campbell, a PTSA member and recommendation of Greenburgh Town Supervisor.
