GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- An Asian-inspired international grocery store will be opening its doors in Greenburgh at the former Pathmark location on Central Avenue in a few weeks.

The first Hmart shop in Westchester County will unveil its predominantly Asian, Western, Latin American and Caribbean products in the 37,000-square-foot space the week of March 19 to 24, according to the company.

Hmart, short for "Han Ah Reum," which means "One arm full of groceries," first started in 1982 in Flushing, Queens and has since grown to more than 50 stores throughout the United States the company said.

Open seven days a week, Hmart's mission is to offer the freshest products possible, with an emphasis on produce. The store will also carry a wide selection of meat and seafood, along with organic items and prepared foods.
