Ardsley's Annual Candy Cane Fair Returns Saturday

ARDSLEY, N.Y. – Families are invited to share the holiday spirit at the village's annual Candy Cane Fair.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, Ardsley will bring back its long-standing tradition from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to stop by the United Methodist Church for lunch, dessert, a Grandma's Attic, and a bake sale.

"The baked goods table is always very popular because people bake things at home, and people come in for that a lot," said organizer Roberta Bennett, adding that the cafeteria will be serving chili and sandwiches.

The Candy Cane Fair brings steady traffic throughout the day, even though Santa Claus no longer makes an appearance. A new favorite, though, is often the jewelry table, said Bennett, where young girls enjoy choosing holiday gifts for their mothers and friends.

"The fair is for the whole family," said Bennett. "The mothers come and they love to bake the goods. And they bring the kids for lunch. But the kids do like to go through the tables to see if they can find anything for their siblings or parents for Christmas."

Ardsley's United Methodist Church is located at 525 Ashford Avenue.
